Music to My Ears

I have been thinking a lot about what a major role music plays in my life. Each morning when I get to school I turn on my iPod and speakers and jam out while I write the students' Focus on the board. I dance around the room while I straighten desks; I rock out to my party shuffle before the school day begins. When I was in college I was really in love with the song "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League. I was not high tech, nor did I own a computer, so I traveled to various stores looking for a CD with this song. I finally found a CD entitled "The Best of Human League" and purchased it promptly. It turns out that "Don't You Want Me" actually is the BEST of The Human League, and all other songs on the CD were a bust. Still, this song is one that gets stuck in my head more than any other song. What is it about this tune that speaks to me so? I don't know. Also, even as I share this new song with you, I find myself realizing that the last song is called "I Wanna Love You Tender." It makes an interesting contrast to "Don't You Want Me," yes?  For the record, this music video terrifies me, but I still love the song.

I LOVE that song. Agreed about the video, though the cheesy 80's haircuts and man makeup make me smile!

Classic, 80's guys with blush lipstick and smoky eyes. So funny. I love the 80's especially the music.
