Selling Myself...Short

On Monday of this week I posted myself on Craigslist.  I was curious about the kind of response I would get on something like that, as opposed to ldssingles.com (which yes, I tried for a few months...it was LAME).  My post read as follows:

"I have set a goal for that I will go out on at least one date a week before my 25th birthday. This is an ambitious goal, and it means I have to be a little more bold than usual.  Help a lady out! Ideally, I will find one guy. . . and date that same man each week, but I am up for an adventure. I am not looking for you to treat every time; we can split a bill.  And a good date is not necessarily an expensive one. :)

I am 24, currently working in the education field.  I have a Bachelors degree and am earning a Masters.  Mostly, I just want to start making time for a social life.  I live just south of Utah County, and am willing to drive to meet you in the middle.  Let me know if you are interested."

I know.  Perhaps even more awkward than my zipper down.  Here's the thing, though: I received about 50 emails in response.  No lie.  It was shocking.  Here is my theory on men (and I would love for someone to try to talk me into something different):

THEY LOVE TO HELP!  Give them a goal, and they are all over it.  Plus, there is no fear of commitment because its just one date.  A lot of them responded with such words as, "That sounds great!" or "I would love to help you meet your goal." or "Name the time and place."  I was so panicked with the response that I removed the craigslist post and didn't reply to any of them.  Today, I received an email from someone in Mona, offering to meet me in Nortonville (halfway...) AWKWARD!  He even asked if I "happened" to teach English, which basically means that he knew it was me.

So, my week was basically full of slip ups and uncomfortable moments.  I would love it if you would send some advice my way!

Cheers!

I know you wrote that post so I could have a good laugh- right? I could just imagine you freaking out about all the responses and getting off as fast as you could:) Who do you think the Mona guy was? Interesting:)

LOL Krys, I love this idea and totally think you should e-mail some of the guys back! I always think Craigslist is such a better way to get things than any other website, and I'm sure that goes for a date, too! :)
